Problem of Practice: Evaluation of Classroom Walkthroughs
Classroom walkthroughs are are done to gather useful data that will drive our decisions to adapt the best practices in curriculum and instruction. Walkthroughs are not designed to be “gotcha” moments, but opportunities to see what is or is not taking place in the classroom. The walkthrough is between five and ten minutes in length. A calibration walkthrough rubric will be used with each walkthrough. Items looked for during walkthroughs are: student engagement, learning targets, student outcomes, classroom culture, use of digital tools, instructional alignment, instructional balance, and formative assessment.
