Kinston High School is a Title I school. A portion of our Title 1 funding was used to host Parent Night. We wanted this night to be a time for families to receive information about KHS courses, electives, PBIS, athletics, IB, and JROTC. My administration team decided to host Parent Night in the library due to its large size. I worked with administration and teachers to create the agenda, and delegate duties for staff to set up department stations. The stations allowed families and the community members to visit with representatives at each table and pick up literature to take home. I was a visible presence by welcoming all in attendance. I demonstrated servant leadership by acquainting families with our department stations, serving dinner after the presentation and assisting with clean up.
Element 6b. Federal, State and District Mandates
The principal designs protocols and processes in order to comply with federal, state, and district mandates.
Our SIP Teams meet twice a month to monitor and review indicators created in Indistar. The team members were assignmed prior to my residency placement at Kinston High School. The artifact to the right is a copy of the task indicators under Dimension E: Families and Community. I had the opportunity to lead this meeting in which we discussed the action steps that were assigned to selected team members. I kept minutes, took meeting notes, shared them with team members, and saved documentation in Indistar. |
